2019 Highlights- A recap of my year so far

Hey there!

It’s fun to talk about highlights. Since we are about 3/4 of the way into the year, I thought I would talk about some of the things that I’ve experienced thus far. I visited a new country (France!), hit some goals for the MJFANGIRL brand, fell in love, and started some really fun projects that I am proud of.

At the start of the year, I had the unique experience to visit the ON THE WALL exhibition, when it made its second stop on the world tour of museums it’s been to. The exhibition in France was at the Grand Palais in Paris and I traveled there with a group of 8 other fan friends.

Below is one of my favorite moments, seeing the Dangerous album cover art in person. For the first time EVER… I was really enamored by a painting. I have never really been a person that was into visual art. I live in New York City where we have some of the best and biggest museums in the world and yet, I never truly enjoyed going to the Met or the MOMA. But this experience really opened my eyes to how impactful art can be. I know it may be silly to some but, this is a part of why I love Michael Jackson! He has been the catalyst through which I have been able to grow interest in so many different things I probably never would have before.

I also visited this beautiful mural done in Paris of a Thriller era portrait of Michael Jackson. After visiting this and some others in Los Angeles and NYC, I’ve decided seeing all of the MJ murals and large art pieces in the world is going to be one of my goals. Not sure how feasible this is but, a girl can always dream- can’t she?

Another highlight of the Paris trip AND of my 2019, was getting the opportunity to collaborate with two of my favorite Michael Jackson fan influencers: Gadget Trish and Hector Barjot. Gadget Trish has become a good sister friend of mine over the past few years. She has shared so much insight about Youtube and we have also gotten a chance to travel together, the first time being to Canada to see the premiere of THRILLER 3D (vlog here!).

I had done a video collab with Hector previously and when I knew that I was going to Paris, I thought it would be awesome to collaborate in person! Hector was kind enough to invite myself and Trish to film a video in his studio. We actually filmed two- here is the one on my channel! (SHOOK!!! THE BIGGEST MICHAEL JACKSON COLLECTION I'VE EVER SEEN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGn8aSYvZQc) Here is a photo we took:

Celebrating my birthday with my Michael Jackson fan friends and with a delicious Chocolate Cake that I could eat (it was vegan from By CHLOE) was also a highlight! I was diagnosed with lactose intolerance a year ago and it’s been a process trying to find foods that actually work for me and can still satisfy my sweet tooth. This cake literally was the icing on the cake on celebrating my 32nd birthday surrounded by lots of love!

I also had the experience to attend a gathering at Forest Lawn where Michael is buried and also visit his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I was always scared to visit Michael’s grave but, it was surprisingly peaceful. It was my second time visiting but, it felt different since so many fans were there. I also got a chance to meet subscribers for the first time, which was awesome being able to put a face to some of the comments I see on my videos. You guys are awesome!

I also met Brandi Jackson (niece of Michael Jackson) at the Hollywood star on June 25th this year. She was SO kind and I thanked her and complimented all of the work she and Taj Jackson have done this year advocating and fighting for Michael’s name in the midst of all of what’s gone on in the media this year.

Oh and… love. 2019 has also been special because I now have the most amazing, caring, and supportive man by my side. I can honestly say this has been one of the sweetest and most exciting times in my life.

Last but not least, I finally hit 10,000 followers on Instagram and I am on track to also acquire 10K on Youtube by the end of the year! I am so grateful that I get to share my love and admiration for the King of Pop with you guys.

I have a lot of other goals and things I would like to accomplish between now and the end of the year. If you’ve made it this far- first of all, THANK YOU for reading and second- I would love to hear some of your highlights of 2019 thus far.
